I never have liked running "skinnies" all of the time on any of my cars and this one is no exception. I decided to put my "stockers" back on. Problem was, I really wasn't too fond of my "hard to keep shiny" polished ZR1's, so I swapped them for some stock silver 10 spoke SS wheels (like I originally had on the car) with 275/40/17 Good Year Eagle F1 GS tires. These tires are $250-$280 each depending on where you get them, but they sure are narrower than the Yokohama ES100's they replaced. And traction pretty much BLOWS...

Anyway, here is a few pics.
FWIW, I plan to lower it real soon, by about an inch or so. I like the "stock" look and will probably buy another pair of these for some drag radials. As hard as it may be to believe, I've had the car about 10 months and still enjoy it...lol. I don't think it's too shabby for a 114,000 mile car. I'm sure it'll still run easy 11's with stock rims and drag radials, so I can't complain.

I like those stockers better than the ZR1's....

That's the first thing I thought of also - looks like it is going up for sale!  J/K.  And I agree with the engine out comment - maybe that is a clue  (maybe the engine really is out)

LOL....

I swear the engine is still in it, and I promise it isn't for sale.

I really do have two deals in the works.
One is for a spare set of SS rims, like the car now has. (for drag radials)
The other deal is for a set of Eibach ProKit springs and Bilstein shocks and struts.

In all honesty, I have had one person wanting to buy the car, so I gave him an unrealistic price, but it was indeed a price I would have handed over the keys for.

I already am 100% sure what the next project would be, an LS1/LS6 powered LX coupe.
I have it built in my head already...
79-89 LX coupe w/3000# race weight (89 cutoff so I can get Historic tags and no emission/inspections worries ever)
Carbed LSx engine with a cam swap and "maybe" some TFS or AFR heads
4L60E 4 speed automatic
8.8 w/whatever gears needed

It'd be an easy NATURALLY ASPIRATED 10 second car that still gets 20mpg's

It's really surprising how much more enjoyable the car is to drive now.

I removed some of the high dollar Drag oriented suspension parts too since they made absolutely no difference in 60 foots or anything else.

I've been playing with the tune and seem to have found some missing HP in the timing tables, so I'm looking forward to the cool weather for some more ET's. For now, I'm looking forward to popping off the T-tops and cruising around.

Pics aren't the greatest since it is still raining and cloudy out, but you get the idea...

BTW, I haven't checked side to side measurement, so I probably still need to adjust panhard bar to center the rear.

Ask me in a week...

I drove it a little yesterday, and it really isn't harsh at all. Firmer, yes, but not harsh at all. I guess the good shocks and struts help though.

BTW, I got my 275/40/17 MT Drag Radials today, and should have my other set of SS rims here tomorrow.

As soon as weather clears up I'll get some better pics with the wider (than the front, but same size) drag radials on the rear.
