SSOTN brings you this unfortunate story of a NOS Backfire:
BottleFed (John Marroquin)
1998 Mustang GT
365 rwhp 535 Ftlbs Torque - Best 1/4 Time: 11.79@116.8 MPH
Here is what can happen if you don't have a MSD window switch and run NOS:
There I was at the starting line ready to go, when I accidentally deep
staged.  I went to back out to properly stage, when all of the sudden the
lights started dropping! Next thing you know, I panic and throw the car into
first gear causing it to bog--big mistake!  The cylinders filled with nitrous
causing a small backfire followed by a big one.  With the second backfire the
hood rose in a cloud of destruction as all of the nitrous came out from
underneath doing extreme damage!  Had I had a window switch the nitrous would
not have armed and the car would have died at the line.  I would have looked
like an ass, but the car would have lived to win the next race!

Also here are my plans on next motor all parts have already been ordered:
Cobra Crank
Manley Rods
J&E Pistons (20OVER)
Billet Clutch
High Volume Oil Pump
SHM Cams
Motor is being done by Randy Haywood@True Blue Performance

And we hope for low 11's at Dave Kings Shootout and possible 10's Next Year.
Here are a few pictures with brief explanations:

1st picture is broken ringlands
2nd is motor with heads removed notice all the chunks of metal
3rd is piston, 7 of 8 looked like this
4th is another shot of broken piston in motor
5th is just piston and rod
6th is a pic of bent rod
7th shows how rod is twisted, this thing should be perfectly straight.
